SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Breeders’ Cup hopeful Bellezza, the Grade 2 Flower Bowl winner, went a half-mile in 49.06 seconds over Saratoga's Oklahoma dirt training track Sunday morning. Bellezza is pointing to the BC Filly and Mare Turf.
Bellezza started two lengths behind workmate Skywatcher, a 2-year-old maiden, drew even at the top of the lane and finished on even terms. Bellezza galloped five furlongs in 1:02.24.
“I thought she had a very good work, she’s really peaking at the right time,” trainer Miguel Clement said. “I’m very happy with her. Today, even though she did it quite comfortably, on this track it was a very good work.”

Clement said he plans just one more work for Bellezza about 10 or 11 days out from the Breeders’ Cup.
Clement’s other Breeders’ Cup runners include Intricate Spirit (Juvenile Turf Sprint) and Bottas (Juvenile Turf). Clement has not ruled out running Tawny Port in the Breeders’ Cup Turf.
Tawny Port has finished second in three consecutive stakes including a nose loss in the Grade 1 Canadian International on Oct. 4.
