The draft’s first round (picks 1 through 32) will be held Thursday night, followed by the second and third rounds Friday (7 p.m. ET) and Rounds 4-7 on Saturday (noon).
Miami (Fla.) quarterback Cam Ward is the heavy favorite to be selected with the No. 1-overall pick, currently held by the Tennessee Titans.
But there’s more intrigue with the No. 2 selection, currently held by the Cleveland Browns. Heisman Trophy-winning two-way standout Travis Hunter tops the current odds for the pick at the top-rated sportsbooks:
Hunter’s University of Colorado teammate, Shedeur Sanders, has the third-best odds to go second overall, but pre-draft evaluations of the quarterback and his best NFL team fit vary widely. As of the start of the week, five teams had better than 7-1 odds to select Sanders, led by the Browns (+200), Pittsburgh Steelers (+230) and New York Giants (+275).
Will Ward and Sanders be the only quarterbacks drafted in the first round? DraftKings Sportsbook’s positional over/under total is set at 2.5 with the over a -200 favorite as of early in the week.
Meanwhile, there’s little debate that Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty is the best running back available in this year’s class.
And so which team will select the stud back, who rushed for 2,601 yards last season — a whopping 890 more than anyone else in the FBS ranks? The Las Vegas Raiders, who own the No. 6 pick in the first round were -125 favorites as of Monday, with the Jacksonville Jaguars (+250) and Chicago Bears (+370) owning the next-best odds.
