HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Counting Stars was a four-length winner over Walk Away Kaye in the $135,000 Astral Spa on Sunday at Oaklawn Park. It was another length back in third to Victory Music.
The six-furlong overnight stakes for 2-year-old fillies closed out opening weekend. Racing resumes Friday with a $45,113 carryover in the pick six.
Counting Stars ($8.60) rallied into Debbie Doll's fractions of 21.98 seconds for the opening quarter and 46.28 for the half-mile. The winner covered the distance run on a fast track on a chilly day in 1:11.13.
Francisco Arrieta was aboard Counting Stars for trainer Mark Casse.
