1:10 BAQ 1st ETERNAL SILENCE (#6, 9-2) ran an underrated race through trouble in her stateside debut, then was given class relief when she turned up again over eight months later, and she impressed winning that race over this distance; unfortunately, that was her only start as a 4yo, and she got way too headstrong when returned in March to try Grade 2 company; forget that last one when stretched all the way out over a bog; steps back again. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
1:22 GP 2nd ADIOS TIPSY (#6, 6-1) has improved her Beyer speed figure in every start. She has some speed to help the trip and adds a full furlong today. Class drop and second time here might prove the tipping point. – Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
1:49 LRL 4th THUNDER IN PARIS (#4, 4-1) finally found the right field last month and crushed a $16,000 claiming race at a lower condition; the small step up here doesn't appear all that daunting, so it really comes down to her ability to outkick several similar closing rivals; if she can get closer early, her chances get even better. – Patrick Moquin | Get PPs for this race
2:20 LRL 5th DOC’S MIRACLE (7-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Patrick Moquin). | Get PPs for this race
4:00 SA 1st GEM MINE (#2, 4-1) gets a class drop and rider switch for this N3L claiming turf sprint after tough trips both recent starts. Last out, she bobbled at the break, was shuffled and lost position into the turn, yet missed by less than four lengths. That was an open $32k claiming turf sprint, this claiming race is restricted to non-winners of three. GEM MINE tried this condition two starts back but steadied after crossing the dirt, raced wide and sputtered. She gets a rider switch to Kazushi Kimura; the gray can win if she gets a clean trip. – Brad Free | Get PPs for this race
4:00 WO 7th STYLISH GENT (#7, 10-1) dueled two-wide for the lead over an inside-biased surface before tiring when coming off a five-month break May 4. He's out of jail while competing off a claim by a hot trainer, who has impressive stats off the halter switch, and could prove tough to catch as the lone speed. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
4:37 GP 8th CLAIMED (#8, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race
5:16 BAQ 9th PRINCESS SUMMER (#2, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race
5:30 SA 4thThis $5k claiming sprint is restricted to horses based in Northern California since Jan. 1, 2024. MY BUCKET LIST (#5, 9-2) ran well all four starts at this level this season, prior to a debacle last out in a night race at Los Alamitos. He got banged around at the break, and blew the turn. It was a toss race. He returns to a mile track on which he is proven; his win and second in March and April would be fast enough. – Brad Free | Get PPs for this race
