Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:50 MTH 1st IN THE DARK (#1, 6-1) is out of a dam who won six races, five of them on the grass, and trainer Jose Sanchez specializes in turf sprinters; will need an alert break from the fence but given that he figures to be prominent from the start. – Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
2:50 MTH 5th AWESOME ENTRY (#6, 8-1) is a DRF Best (Kenny Peck). | Get PPs for this race
3:08 WO 5th I GOT MURPHED (#2, 6-1) faded late to third after setting a moderate pace when debuting over seven furlongs. The 4yo doesn't have quite as far to go in this 6 1/2-furlong tilt with leading rider Pietro Moran back in the tack. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
3:24 MTH 6th SUMMER'S COMIN (#5, 6-1) was behind a few of these in her latest but she moved prematurely there, and she flattened out late; she was up the track in the 2024 edition of the Jersey Girl Handicap but she had a good amount of trouble in that race and she can avenge that loss to MIA'S CRUSADE given a clean trip and a better-timed run. – Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
3:33 GP 6th AIR COMBAT (#3, 6-1) has tactical speed in a race that is light on pace. He is feeling great and loves this dirt where he has never missed the exacta in four starts. He is six for thirteen going this distance so there is another plus. He draws outside main foes and goes second time with new barn. He did lose to the five last out but that was going seven panels and this is not. – Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
3:41 WO 6th SILENT STRIKE (#2, 20-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). | Get PPs for this race
4:29 SAR 8th STEP FORWARD (#5, 10-1) earned a 95 Beyer finishing third in a Grade 2 when returned to a turf sprint last summer, then shipped here and had a no-chance trip in his next start; pulled a wide trip while never really hard-used off the layoff last month; has better races to get to, and he should be a price in here. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
5:04 SAR 9th SHIPSATIONAL (#1, 10-1) never got to try this condition after winning two NY-bred stakes races early on; he hasn't won since then, though he has spent most of his career since either facing open company or running in state-bred stakes races; he is still competitive, and he finally gets the class relief he needs. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
5:47 GP 10th PREVENT (#5, 5-1) puts the blinkers ON and that should cement a front end try. We think this short freshening is just what this colt needs and notice that he hasn't had a break in a while. He loves this surface and ends up in a barn that is 29% with new runners. – Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
6:48 SAR 12th SOLO MIO (#7, 10-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race
