DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Saturday, June 21, 2025

Adam Coglianese/NYRA
First post for Aqueduct racing is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.

12:50 GP 1st BOOMBOX BETTY (#8, 12-1) is a DRF Best bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race

3:00 GP 5th ALWAYS TRUE (#6, 9-2) ran evenly off the layoff and now drops into restricted claimers. Race flow is OK for this 3YO that tries older foes for the first time. The later we get into the year the better for a situation like this. This gelding likes this synth and is a hard trier in general. – Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race

3:06 BAQ 5th In a race that features plenty of early pace, JUST FOR LUCK (#3, 8-1) should get the setup he needs; he's making his first start off a trainer switch to Rick Dutrow, who is 4 for 10 ($5.42 ROI) with turf routers in that situation; got some tough trips recently, particularly when going wide in August and September of last year; returns from a layoff landing in an appropriate spot. – David Aragona | Get PPs for this race

3:54 WO 6th FORTYFIVESEVENTY (#6, 8-1) lost all chance when she blew the break while exiting a 5 1/2-month layoff in the G3 Belle Mahone. She's a snug fit in this conditioned allowance/optional claimer and should take some beating with leading rider apprentice Pietro Moran taking over. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race

4:10 BAQ 7th CORVUS (#5, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (David Aragona). | Get PPs for this race

4:58 MTH 9th ITSACHARDONNEIGH (#5, 9-2) was far back on the wire in that sprint in her local bow but she was against a track that favored frontrunners as well as a race flow that gave the edge to the speeds; faded only late in her first and only try around two turns in her prior but she can go a long way in this finale if she can shake loose in the opening stages. – Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race

5:08 GP 9th HONESTO (#8, 6-1) only beat a few home last out but that was chasing a dawdling half mile pace of over 50 seconds. Today's pace is tons faster. New barn is 22% off the claim and they find a good spot. – Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race

6:03 WO 10th TOSEN WISH (#5, 6-1) prevailed at this conditioned allowance/optional-claiming level after rallying from off a fast pace on the inner turf in October. With the rail in the closer-friendly lane 1, he has no shortage of speed to chase here and could be along in time if sufficiently cranked up off the long layoff. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race

6:33 WO 11th BOWMAN'S RUN (#8, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). | Get PPs for this race
