12:10 LRL 1st ROJA REDEMPTION (#11, 5-1) made his first two starts of the year over hurdles and is now returning to flat racing, which has already been a successful angle for Fisher at this meet; the gelding wrapped up his 2024 campaign in solid form, finishing in the money in four straight starts with a victory over this turf course; the hurdle races earlier this year seem like an ideal way to work him into race shape for this sort of spot. – Patrick Moquin | Get PPs for this race
12:50 MTH 1st RAVENITE (#1, 6-1) seemed to improve with the addition of Lasix in her latest, and she also could have benefited from the layoff; would move way up if this race is moved to the main track, a distinct possibility at press time given the forecast for Thursday and Friday. – Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
3:18 MTH 6th FERATOVIC (#6, 10-1) broke slowly in that debut try and then made a premature move to try to get into contention, only to flatten out late; meets statebreds after facing open company in that maiden claimer and though he stretches out he could prove a late threat today, especially if this race is switched from the grass to dirt. – Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
4:05 GP 7th FREEDOM STREET (#2, 5-1) has logged plenty of miles in prepping for debut. Has shown plenty of potential on Tapeta, is full to multiple grass winner Surf City. – Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race
4:13 WO 7th TOUR THE CITY (#11, 10-1) landed on the edges behind two next-out winners, who both earned a Beyer in the low 90s, the last time he went postward in a Feb. 28 starter allowance at Gulfstream. He broke his maiden on the Tapeta here last spring and could overcome his wide draw to prevail at a decent price. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
5:17 WO 9th DATAMAN (#2, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). | Get PPs for this race
5:18 MTH 10th CAPTAIN QUICK (#2, 6-1) is the pick if this race stays on the grass, as his best turf sprint tries give him strong credibility despite the fact that he's been away since October; off the board last year when he came back from a break but he posted a decent Beyer in defeat. – Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
5:49 WO 10th FASHIONABLY FAB (#9, 5-1), last year's Canadian champion older female on the main track, won this G3 stakes off a similar layoff last spring under Pietro Moran before notching two more stakes at the '24 meet. The 10-time winner in 17 starts has worked nicely and could give her gifted stablemate CAITLINHERGRTNESS a run for her money. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
6:38 SA 6thThird start following an extended layoff, dropping from open N1X to Calbred N1X, VINCERO GRANDE (#7, 5-1) looks solid. This mile and one-eighth turf distance is in her wheelhouse; she finished in the money her last three tries at a mile and one quarter. Facing a field of mostly milers, 'GRANDE looks like one of the more probable winners on the card. – Brad Free | Get PPs for this race
8:38 SA 10thIf she can be forgiven for a disappointing fifth in a N1X dirt route last out, QUICK BROWN FOX (#2, 5-1) can make amends shortening to her preferred sprint trip. She scored a decisive come-from-behind maiden turf sprint win two back, and seems best at one turn. The winner of the route race she exits (Seismic Beauty) returned to score a highly rated G2 win last weekend. 'FOX can bounce back shortening up and returning to turf. – Brad Free | Get PPs for this race
