Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:50 MTH 1st GOOD AS HE GETS (#10, 5-1) ran a strong race in his first and only try on the grass to date, back in November, when he made a mid-race run to contend for the lead and held well for the show; the top two finishers in that race both returned to score in their next starts, on turf (Beyers of 80 and 78, respectively), and he drops in class for this after racing well enough against Maiden Special Weight company in New York. – Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
12:50 GP 1st SAINT NO MORE (#2, 3-1) draws inside but isn't stuck on the rail and that is going to help his front running trip. He gets in super light at 112 pounds and that is going to sharpen his speed that much more. He puts three races together and gets back to the dirt which is his best surface. An early breather is yet another plus all for a barn that is 19% with recent acquisitions. – Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
1:37 BAQ 2nd HEAVEN STREET (#1, 12-1) is a DRF Best Bet (David Aragona). | Get PPs for this race
1:52 GP 3rd CONDORA (#5, 9-2) is a DRF Best bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race
2:20 MTH 4th JOHN JAY (#4, 10-1) has yet to run to his strong 2024 Beyers this year but he has had excuses, including distances that are not his best game and a troubled break two back; should be a big price here thanks to the depressed recent figures and he's capable of pulling off the upset if he can run to his best figures, which have comes at this track and distance. – Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
2:51 WO 4th NEXT PITCH (#7, 6-1) rallied three-wide from the rear of the field over an inside-favoring track to beat non-two rivals by daylight as a 14-1 overlay in his second start back. The son of Souper Speedy and stakes winner Green Doctor has since worked nicely and shouldn't spend too much time at the non-three OS level. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
3:06 BAQ 5th FUERTEVENTURA (#5, 6-1) was picked up for $80k by these connections last summer, and has primarily been facing tougher fields in higher-priced optional claiming races since then; has gotten several wide trips from outside posts recently but now draws much better and may have a chance to attain forward position under Ricardo Santana in what appears to be a paceless affair. – David Aragona | Get PPs for this race
3:50 MTH 7th VICTORY GIRL (#6, 10-1) made a late bid for the place in a speed-friendly race on the dirt in her latest, and though she was well up the course in her last appearance on the green, two back, that was against better, and she was up near the lead in a race that set up well for the closers; seems to be a very good fit vs. the locals at this level on the turf. – Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
6:03 WO 10th POSTURING (#7, 4-1) is protected by waiver for his first outing since late November, when he blew away $25K non-two foes with a career high 81 Beyer. The 5yo has worked regularly and retains Civaci for this non-three tilt, in which he should be dangerous if sufficiently cranked up. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
7:08 SA 8thA creditable fourth-place debut by MO HOLLAND DRIVE (#5, 10-1) stamps him the choice in this maiden race for Cal-bred 2yos that is a split of race 6. 'DRIVE faced open company first out in a turf sprint, chased from midpack, raced wide on the turn, looked green in the stretch, but finished evenly and galloped out willingly after the wire. It was a solid debut in a race won by the promising 2yo turf colt Hey Nay Nay. 'DRIVE switches to dirt, and drops into a race for state-breds. He should move up a ton. – Brad Free | Get PPs for this race
