First post for Monmouth racing is scheduled for 12:50 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.

12:50 GP 1st COUNTRY SLEW (#4, 20-1) broke his maiden off a layoff so we know he can fire fresh. This gelding improved his Beyer in every start on the local Tapeta and that should bode well for his return. Local works are fine as is race flow. – Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race

12:50 MTH 1st FULLY COMMITTED (#7, 4-1) makes his first start for trainer Silvino Ramirez, who wins at 20% with new faces, and he looms the main speed in this seemingly paceless opener; barn also does well with horses moving from sprints to routes and this gelding will be tough to reel in if he's able to shake loose and back down the fractions. – Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race

1:16 PIM 3rd MORTAL SIN (#11, 12-1) might not make it into the field, but he would be a serious threat in his 4-year-old debut; the gelding made so many earnest runs at breaking his maiden on turf, so it was strange for him to finally get the job done in his dirt debut at Penn National in a relatively weak performance; his lack of success on turf doesn't change the fact that he does his best running on the surface. – Patrick Moquin | Get PPs for this race

1:43 WO 2nd COMMANDER AT SEA (#1, 15-1) prevailed first-time out off a similar layoff last spring and can obviously acquit himself well when fresh. Apprentice Adams was aboard when he beat non-two stock in November. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race

1:54 GP 3rd KOSHER CAPONE (#4, 8-1) has some speed and in a race with little pace. What if this gelding is better on the dirt? His lone win did come on it. He is capable going two turns, draws fine, and has some back class. – Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race

2:05 BAQ 3rd NOTMYSTEPPINGSTONE (#1, 6-1) was 3/5 and facing only three rivals when easily breaking her maiden in January, but she came right back to win again in a much stronger effort while forced to go a solid pace all the way; took pressure throughout once again in that last one, where she only weakened late in a game try; speed from the rail, and she might be better than she looks on paper. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race

3:38 BAQ 6th WEEKEND RAGS (#3, 4-1) holds solid overall form sprinting on turf, including a couple of wins already over this course and distance; liked her winning effort at Gulfstream in December when closing down a field going shorter, and she has held her own against stakes competition twice since, both in races that were taken wire-to-wire; gets more ground to work with, and also gets Lasix back on for this. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race

3:47 MTH 7th UP HER SLEEVE (#8, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck). | Get PPs for this race

4:05 GP 7th COME DREAM WITH ME (#5, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race

4:29 WO 7th CAPTIVATING NAME (#2, 6-1) has worked nicely for his first start since a closing third when he moved out to the seven-furlong distance of this event Dec. 1 and might not need one. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race

5:09 GP 9th MAJUSTIFY (#7, 9-2) broke last in her debut and did little but she got needed race experience and that is what counts. Her second start was tons better. Added half furlong might prove the tipping point if distance Tomlinson of 379 is any indication. Race flow is above average and we know this filly can stalk a good trip. – Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race

5:16 BAQ 9th FIRE'S OUT (#3, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race

5:31 WO 9th JIMMY'S AFFAIR (#6, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). | Get PPs for this race

6:01 WO 10th WOLF BEACH (#4, 20-1) ships in after an unsuccessful stint on turf at Tampa and could wake up as a longshot if he takes to the Tapeta, for which he has some breeding. Newland has excellent numbers with new shooters. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race

7:38 SA 8th SELF SUFFICIENT (#2, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Brad Free). | Get PPs for this race
