DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Thursday, April 10, 2025

Joe Labozzetta/NYRA
First post for Aqueduct racing is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.

1:32 KEE 2nd Looks like ON MY HONOR (#4, 10-1) really loathed the Turfway Polytrack - two no-shows over that surface before they gave up and waited for dirt. Three back he was returning just 20 days after his previous start. The three sprints before that all strongly fit this spot, and I'd guess he can at least approach that form dropping down to the lowest level of his career. -Marcus Hersh | Bet this race with DRF Bets

1:42 AQU 2nd MAD FOR MADDY (#2, 9-2) dropped to break her maiden in her first attempt over a mile at Laurel; improved when winning right back on this track in the mud, then got in too tough when up in class last time; steps back adding Lasix and blinkers for the return to NY. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets

1:54 GP 3rd BIRD WILDCAT (#5, 5-1) puts three races together and returns to a flat mile. With some early encouragement, this gelding can find the front end as there is little pace in this race. This gelding won his only race going this distance and that was only two back. A weight break helps front running plans. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets

2:36 KEE 4th Wonder if TROUBLESHOOTING (#3, 20-1) will be as speed crazy this year as he was at age 2 - hope not. Blinkers, which went on when he went the wrong way in his 2024 finale, are off. Did pretty well first two starts despite just going to the lead and dueling. Been readying for this all winter at FG, and really liking first turf at a price. Sire Not This Time generally good with grass horses, even more so turf sprinters, and dam's lone sibling to race, Big Trouble, is a very capable turf sprinter also trained by G Foley. -Marcus Hersh | Bet this race with DRF Bets

3:29 GP 6th MADE OF MISCHIEF (#5, 20-1) tried two turns on the turf in her debut and that alone is tough. She only beat two home but she gained valuable race experience. Plus her turf Tomlinson of 242 isn't very good so today's surface switch could help. There is a lot of pace in this shortened sprint and filly could sit a nice trip. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:12 KEE 7th PRIDES CROSSING (#3, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Marcus Hersh). | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:22 AQU 7th LADY RAINICORN (#5, 9-2) was very green in the career debut while flashing some talent; clearly benefitted from that experience and was much more professional last time when winning easily going this distance; takes the next logical step. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:30 GP 8th PLAYGROUND LEGEND (#4, 5-1) is a new route horse. He has some speed but can stalk just as easily. That was a Beyer top previously so this guy might love his new barn. We like how connections find a spot where this horse can't be taken. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:54 AQU 8th JUST LICORICE (#7, 5-1) didn't run well in his first attempt in this condition when right off the maiden win, then got in over his head in the Damon Runyon, though his other races all make him a contender in here; got far back outrun early behind Lou last time, before finishing up with interest along the inside; factors with the right trip. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:56 TUP 3rd SALEEN G T (#2, 5-1) was bit slow at the start in her return try but won nonetheless. She has worked twice since and gets good race flow today. Win rider keeps the faith as this filly adds a half furlong. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:00 GP 9th SCARLETTA CARPETTA (#8, 15-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:16 KEE 9th No workout video but the breeze pattern for ONE MOR STORY (#6, 12-1) through the winter and into the string, first at the training center, then a final one at CD, holds a lot of appeal. Homebred by a $2.5K stallion debuts in a $50K maiden claimer - love it. Has the feeling of a very live horse who might be a fair price. -Marcus Hersh | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:56 TUP 5th TEDDY'S TRIUMPH (#8, 6-1) should get a trip like his winning one previously. Once again there isn't much pace in this race so this gelding will get a nice stalking trip off sluggish splits. This gelding likes his new surroundings and keeps win rider in Krigger (30% for this barn). -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets

6:52 TUP 7th PRINCESSPRANCEALOT (#8, 10-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Bet this race with DRF Bets
