Vikings-Rams preview, other Fanatics promos

Minnesota (14-3), as of midday Monday, was a 2.5-point favorite at Fanatics with a game total hovering around 47.5 points. The Vikings were -140 on the moneyline, while the Rams (10-7) were catching +115 odds. 

The 14-win Vikings are the winningest wild card team in NFL history, but they had to settle for the NFC’s fifth seed after losing to the Detroit Lions (15-2) in a Week 18 showdown for the NFC North crown.

Meanwhile, coach Sean McVay’s Rams won the NFC West to earn the fourth seed and the right to host the wild card game before the fires intervened.

It’s a rematch of a Week 8 game, won 30-20 by the host Rams. L.A. QB Matthew Stafford threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns in the contest, with standout wide receiver Puka Nacua making a surprise return from injury for the Thursday night contest.

Minnesota, though, maintains most of the statistical edges on paper as QB Sam Darnold and the Vikings enter Monday’s rematch with a top-10-ranked scoring offense (25.4 points per game) and defense (19.5 ppg) to go along with the league’s third-best turnover differential (+12) in the regular season.

L.A., meanwhile, finished the regular season ranked 20th in scoring (21.6), 17th in scoring defense (22.7) and 10th with a plus-6 turnover differential.
