SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – A trio of horses now under the care of Miguel Clement – Far Bridge, Carson’s Run, and Deterministic – are confirmed for the Grade 1, $1 million Manhattan Stakes at 1 3/16 miles.

Miguel Clement is now the head trainer of the stable following his father Christophe’s death last weekend.

“It’s the right path for the three ownerships,” Clement said Friday. “You got to treat them as separate entities . . . you have to look out for what’s best for each horse and their careers as well as their ownership. As a result, we’re running all three in the Manhattan.”

Far Bridge is coming off a victory in the Grade 2 Man o’ War, his fourth graded stakes victory from his last five starts. Deterministic and Carson’s Run ran one-two in the Grade 2 Fort Marcy at Aqueduct last out.

On Friday, Far Bridge worked five furlongs in 1:00.02 over the Oklahoma turf course in company with Tawny Port, who is running in the two-mile Belmont Gold Cup.

“He’s been top-class all year, he’s won four of his last five starts,” Clement said. “He’s remarkably consistent, he tries hard, he’s honest, he’s amazingly simple and straight forward to train.”

Deterministic and Carson’s Run went a half-mile together in 48.47 seconds over the Oklahoma turf, per Daily Racing Form. They were joined in and ultimately passed by the Mark Casse-trained 3-year-old filly Nitrogen, who is being pointed to the Wonder Again Stakes.
