SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Jockey Club Gold Cup will be shown on national Fox during a one-hour broadcast from 1-2 p.m. on Aug. 31, it was announced Friday. Post time for the Gold Cup will be 1:45 p.m. and first post for that day’s card will be 11:20 a.m. Eastern.
Fox has typically shown NYRA’s Saturday stakes from Saratoga during a two-to-three-hour window, but with college football starting on Aug. 30, Fox has carved out a one-hour slot on Sunday that weekend. For Fox, the Gold Cup will be shown before a three-hour broadcast of an Indy Car race from Nashville during a 2-5 p.m. Eastern window.
“This is another example of Fox Sports commitment to showcasing the best events in horse racing on their biggest platform,” Tony Allevato, NYRA’s chief revenue officer said in a release. “The Jockey Club Gold Cup could be one of the great races of the year and we appreciate Fox Sports featuring the race before a national audience.”
