OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Full Screen, winner of the Queens County Stakes at Aqueduct on Dec. 27, could make his next start at Oaklawn Park, trainer Brad Cox said.
With no two-turn stakes for older males on the NYRA circuit until the Excelsior at 1 1/4 miles in April, Full Screen could turn up in a race like the Grade 3, $500,000 Razorback Stakes on Feb. 28. There is also the General MacArthur Overnight Stakes on Jan. 30, though the $135,000 purse and the timing may not be ideal.
The Razorback, in which Full Screen finished fourth last year, should give him additional time to recharge from the back-to-back triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures he posted in an allowance win and the Queens County. Full Screen also finished third to Bishops Bay in the American Pharoah Stakes last March at Oaklawn.
“He does like Oaklawn, he had some luck there with another barn,” Cox said. “That could be a possibility moving forward.”
Cox said Full Screen will remain in New York to train before a decision is finalized on his next race.
