The 2024 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale concluded with both the second-highest five-day average and gross in the history of the event. The average of $72,132 came up behind 2022's $73,690 and the gross of $65,712,700 for 911 horses has only been bettered by last year's $67,916,300 when 949 horses went through the ring.
Fillies went five-for-five leading the individual sessions after HIP 870 Spoil Me Silly, a daughter of Swan For All consigned by Kentuckiana Farms, fetched a winning bid of $160,000 of M & L Of Delaware LLC. She's a half-sister to multiple Ontario stakes winner R Liza.
HIP 810 Malibu Barbie Deo, a Downbytheseaside filly, was second on Friday night at $150,000 and was purchased by Odds On Racing LLC. Consigned by Preferred Equine Marketing, Inc., as agent, Malibu Barbie Deo is a half-sister to Rodeo Drive Deo, who won both weeks of the Grand Circuit for 2-year-old pacing fillies at The Red Mile.
