Journalism won last year's Haskell Stakes, one of three Grade 1 wins during his 3-year-old campaign.

The $1 million Haskell Stakes will anchor a six-stakes card on July 18 at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J., during its 2026 meet, according to a stakes schedule released by the track on Thursday.

The Grade 1 Haskell, a mid-summer draw for top 3-year-old colts, is one of five graded stakes on the July 18 card with purses totaling $2.65 million. Also scheduled is the Grade 2 United Nations ($500,000), the Grade 2 Molly Pitcher ($500,000), the Grade 3 Monmouth Cup ($350,000), and the Grade 3 Matchmaker Stakes ($300,000).

In total, Monmouth has scheduled 36 stakes races over the course of its 50-day meet, which begins on May 9, one week after the Kentucky Derby. Nine of the stakes races are graded. Total stakes purses will be $5.85 million.

A card featuring a local prep for the Haskell, the $150,000 Pegasus Stakes, is scheduled for June 13. That card also includes two graded stakes, the Grade 3 Salvator Mile and the Grade 3 Eatontown Stakes.

Monmouth’s 2026 meet will run through Sept. 13.
