Hastings canceled its Friday card due to poor air quality.

Hastings Racecourse in Vancouver, British Columbia, has canceled its Friday night card due to poor air quality wrought by wildfires in the area.

There were five races set to be run Friday. A track spokeswoman told Daily Racing Form that they will likely be redrawn for next week.

Saturday's seven-race card, which includes two $50,000 stakes races, was, as of Friday afternoon, scheduled to proceed as planned, with first post at 2:30 p.m. Pacific. Milder temperatures and some rain are in the Accuweather forecast for the weekend, which should help improve the situation.
