Marc Holliday, the chairman of the New York Racing Association, and Bret Jones, the president of Airdrie Stud in Central Kentucky, have been elected as stewards of The Jockey Club, the organization announced on Monday.
Holliday, the chairman and chief executive officer of SL Green Realty Group and an owner-breeder, has been a member of The Jockey Club since 2022. He was elected as the chairman of NYRA in 2022 and has increasingly become involved in overseeing the redevelopment of Belmont Park, the association’s Long Island racetrack.
Jones joined his family’s Airdrie Stud in 2006 after college. He was elevated to president following the death of his father, Brereton Jones, in 2023, the year he became a member of The Jockey Club.
William M. Lear, the organization’s current secretary, was reelected as a steward, The Jockey Club said. The other stewards of the organization include Stuart S. Janney, who is retiring as chairman next month; Ian D. Highet, the treasurer; William S. Farish, the vice chairman; and members Louis Cella, Everett Dobson, Gary Fenton, Terry Finley, David O’Farrell, and Vincent Viola.
