Friends and family of Kathy Walsh, who died in May at the age of 85, will gather at Santa Anita on Sunday to remember the former trainer.
A race will be named in Walsh’s honor and a reception will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. in the 100-to-1 room.
Walsh, who trained from 1970 to 2021 and won 1,232 races, won training titles at Longacres in Washington state and Canterbury Downs in Minnesota. She also won Grade 1 races in Southern California and had a starter in the Kentucky Derby, Hanuman Highway, who finished eighth behind Real Quiet in 1998.
