Trainer Nancy Takter won three of the six $25,000 opening round divisions of New Jersey Sire Stakes action for 3-year-old trotters that took place as part of Saturday night's program at the Meadowlands.
Takter captured filly events with Dan Patch Award winner Champagne Problems (1:53 3/5) and Deja Blu (1:53), the first foal out of 2018 Hambletonian champion Atlanta, and a colt/gelding flight with Travolta Hanover (1:54 4/5). Champagne Problems, who is by Tactical Landing, and Travolta Hanover, a son of Muscle Hill, were driven by Dexter Dunn, while Deja Blu, a Muscle Hill filly, had Yannick Gingras in the bike.
What A Bid Hanover, another Muscle Hill offspring piloted by trainer/driver Ake Svanstedt, rallied out of third to win the remaining filly event in 1:53 4/5, while Hidalgo added trotting hobbles and bagged his colt and gelding tilt in 1:53 1/5 for Yannick Gingras and Ron Burke. Finally, the leader, pocket-sitter and first-over horse all broke in the stretch of the final colt and gelding contest, leaving it to 31-1 shot Precise Landing (Tim Tetrick) to pull the upset in 1:54. Dan Daley trains the victorious Tactical Landing colt.
