Mi Saturday takes Highland Ice for third straight win

Mi Saturday won his third consecutive race on Monday, darting to a length win over Spankster in the $50,000 Highland Ice at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Okla. It was another neck back in third to Stage Left.

The Highland Ice was a six-furlong race for 3-year-olds and up. Wildatlanticstorm was scratched from the race. The Highland Ice had to be rescheduled for Monday after the card it headlined last week was canceled.

Mi Saturday ($4.80) was always prominent as he sparred early with Rexford and continued racing on the lead. There were no fractions posted during the simulcast of the race, and the official chart noted there was a timing malfunction. Mi Saturday went on to cover the distance on a track rated fast in 1:11.54.

Walter De La Cruz was aboard for trainer Joe Offolter.

Mi Saturday began his winning streak Nov. 29 at Remington in a nonwinners-of-four-lifetime allowance sprint for Oklahoma-breds. He rolled home by 5 1/4 lengths, then won a second-level allowance for Oklahoma-breds by 4 1/2 lengths on Dec. 11 at Remington. From there, Mi Saturday defeated open company in the Highland Ice.

Bryan Hawk bred and owns Mi Saturday, who is a son of Mitole.
