Into Mischief had 2025 progeny earnings of $16,645,829 through June 30.

Halfway through this year, Into Mischief is in a familiar position atop the North American general sire list as he chases his seventh consecutive earnings title.

Into Mischief, who stands at Spendthrift Farm, has progeny earnings of $16,645,829 through June 30, according to Daily Racing Form statistics. His leading earner is dual classic winner Sovereignty, who has banked more than $4.7 million as one of Into Mischief’s nation-leading 13 individual stakes winners.

Into Mischief’s closest pursuer is Candy Ride (Lane’s End Farm), whose progeny have earned $10,356,174. Dubai World Cup winner Hit Show is responsible for $7.3 million of that.

Into Mischief and Candy Ride both have sons in the top 10 sires, with Candy Ride’s Gun Runner (Three Chimneys Farm) third on the list at $9,140,014. Curlin (Hill ‘n’ Dale Farm), sire of Preakness winner Journalism, is next at $8,342,528, followed by Constitution (WinStar Farm), sire of multiple Grade 1 winner Mindframe, at $8,128,633.

Into Mischief’s son Practical Joke (Ashford Stud), second to his sire with 11 individual stakes winners this year, sits just outside the top five with $7,730,556. Rounding out the top 10 sires by earnings are Justify (Ashford) at $7,148,368, Medaglia d’Oro (Darley) at $6,797,103, Not This Time (Taylor Made Stallions) at $6,385,792, and Nyquist (Darley) at $6,370,029.

Medaglia d’Oro, who is the sire of Kentucky Oaks winner Good Cheer, is currently the nation’s leading turf sire, thanks to his multiple Grade 1 winner Spirit of St Louis. Medaglia d’Oro’s bankroll of $2,780,387 leads the $2,552,304 of Twirling Candy (Lane’s End) – another son of Candy Ride.

While 2025 is half over, the 2-year-old racing season is still quite young. Upstart (Airdrie Stud), who has several large crops in the pipeline, is the early leader with seven individual winners for earnings of $350,414. Leinster (Pleasant Acres Stallions) is the leading freshman sire and checks in third on the overall juvenile earnings list, with $241,100.
