The Dec. 1 launch of the Missouri sports betting market is closing in, and online sportsbooks are gearing up to offer registration and pre-registration deals to all of their soon-to-be new users.
While sports gambling in Missouri is already legal, it won’t be live until the beginning of December—however, MO sportsbooks are allowed to pre-register their customers starting on Nov. 17, two weeks before the official launch.
We’ve compiled everything there is to know about the beginning of sports betting in Missouri and how the available sportsbook bonus codes can be claimed by new users.
When will sports betting be legal in Missouri?
Local voters legalized sports betting in Missouri at the November ballot one year ago, although an alternate reality was not far away.
Voters only passed Amendment 2 by less than 3,000 votes after years of back-and-forths from legislators, lobbyists, and members of in-state professional sports organizations. The margin of victory was inconsequential to the final outcome, and Missouri legal sports betting was approved.
The Missouri Gaming Commission (MGC) confirmed for the first time in spring 2025 that the state expected to launch on Dec. 1. The MGC has kept true to that timeline throughout its process of getting the market ready for operation, and after months of waiting, the time for Missouri sports betting has almost arrived.

The MGC began its licensing process by reviewing applications for two available untethered operators licenses. These were the most lucrative licenses that were available, since they did not require the licensee to partner with a local affiliate with whom they needed to pay or split their profits.
The nation’s leader in sports betting, FanDuel, was shockingly named the odd man out among three applicants for the licenses. DraftKings and Circa Sports, a small sportsbook focused on serious bettors, received the licenses.
Missouri sports betting law allows for a maximum of 19 tethered licenses. Interested MO betting sportsbooks had until Sept. 12 to submit their applications for temporary licenses to be eligible for the Dec. 1 launch.
A total of 10 temporary licenses were approved, meaning two were untethered, and eight were tethered.
