BJM's Lil Man improved to three-for-three so far in 2025 with a 1:55 4/5 win in a $119,700 New York Sire Stakes race for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters on Monday afternoon at Monticello Raceway.
Driven by Tyler Buter, BJM'S Lil Man showed speed from post five and got the top spot away from Happy Jack B (Scott Zeron) before the 28 1/5 quarter. Buter then backed down the the half to 58 seconds before he picked up the tempo to 1:26 3/5 as Global Sensation (Brett Beckwith) attacked first-over out of third.
Global Sensation would go off-stride as the field neared the final turn, though, leaving Seven Layer (Niko Karna) in the first-up position. Seven Layer did gain to the wire, but it wasn't enough, as BJM's Lil Man kept clear to tally by a length and three-quarters. Seismic Step (Jordan Stratton), who was last the half, closed for third.
