The New York Sire Stakes season for 2-year-old filly trotters got underway on Monday afternoon at Monticello Raceway with a couple of $53,500 tilts won by My Philomene and Overalls.
My Philomene (Jason Bartlett) bypassed the pocket to drive on to the top nearing the 30 2/5 quarter in the first division, then backed down the middle-half to 1:01 3/5 and 1:32 3/5. Race favorite Nezuko Kamado S (Brett Beckwith) attacked first-over out of third on the way to three-quarters and challenged My Philomene in the final panel, but My Philomene was game and held on by a head in 2:01. Modesty Blaise (Ake Svanstedt) overcame a break before the start to get third.
A daughter of Chapter Seven, My Philomene was bred by Melvin Gowan and is trained by Jared Bako for owner Melady Enterprises LLC. My Philomene won in her first pari-mutuel outing after she finished second in a pair of baby races at Pocono and paid $9.60 to win.

Overalls (Jordan Stratton) got to the front with no dispute from the pole position in the other section and trotted along through a clip of 29 4/5, 1:01 2/5 and 1:31 2/5. On the final bend, Sharp Seven (Jeff Gregory) went on a break from first-over, and that enable Overalls to cruise to a 2 1/4 length triumph in 2:01 3/5. Pocket-sitter Seven Winds (Svanstedt) held off Grace In Heaven (Beckwith) to runner-up honors.
Cory Stratton trains Overalls, a Devious Man filly, for owners Our Three Sons Stable LLC., Stratton Stable Inc. and VIP Internet Stable LLC. Overalls, a Mark Wamp-bred, was successful in her initial start after she was second and first in a pair of qualifiers at Monticello and the Meadowlands and returned $5.10 to win.
