Oaklawn promotes Gillham to vice president of racing and wagering

After serving as the director of sports and mutuels manager, Oaklawn has promoted Zack Gillham to the track's vice president of racing and wagering.

Oaklawn Park announced Thursday that Zack Gillham has been promoted to vice president of racing and wagering for the Hot Springs, Ark., track.

Gillham most recently served as Oaklawn’s executive director of wagering and prior to that the eight-year employee was Oaklawn’s director of sports and mutuels manager. Gillham will now oversee the racing and sports wagering operations. He has been central to “modernizing and growing” Oaklawn’s “wagering initiatives,” according to the press release.

“Zack’s deep knowledge of both racing and wagering, along with his proven leadership, makes him the ideal choice to take on this expanded role,” Oaklawn president Lou Cella said in a release. “We are excited to see him lead these key areas of our business and help guide the continued success of Oaklawn’s racing and wagering programs.”

Jason Milligan, who had been serving as vice president of racing operations, is stepping down from that role and will take over as director of racing, according to the press release. Milligan has served in a variety of racing and operational capacities during his 28 years with Oaklawn.

“We are grateful for Jason’s many years of dedicated service and the pivotal role he has played in our success,” Cella said in a release. “We are pleased that he will continue to contribute his expertise and passion in his new role as Director of Racing.”

Oaklawn opens its new season in December.
