Conducted and The Padre, stakes winners at Del Mar in 2025, have resumed training at Santa Anita.
Conducted rejoined trainer O.J. Jauregui’s stable at the beginning of February for an expected return to racing this spring. In his last start, his stakes debut, Conducted won the $201,500 Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Stakes for 2-year-olds at a mile on turf at Del Mar on Oct. 31, the first of the two days of Breeders’ Cup races.
Jauregui said Conducted is “jogging and having light gallops.
“We’ll get him fit and get him ready and figure it out from there,” he added.
A winner of 2 of 4 starts, Conducted races for Mike and Julia Iavarone, Danny Eplin, and Arthur Spencer. The Iavarones bought a majority share of Conducted after the colt won a maiden race at a mile on turf by 6 1/4 lengths at Santa Anita on Oct. 4.

The Padre was the star 3-year-old of the Del Mar summer meeting last year, winning consecutive starts on turf in the $100,500 La Jolla Handicap at 1 1/16 miles on Aug. 3 and the Grade 2 Del Mar Derby at 1 1/8 miles on Aug. 31. Trained by Phil D’Amato, The Padre was turned out in September.
“We gave him time off for little things,” D’Amato said recently.
The Padre, winner of 3 of 4 starts, has had two three-furlong workouts at Santa Anita this month. An Irish-bred colt, The Padre races for the partnership of Little Red Feather Racing, Sterling Stables, and Marsha Naify.
