Pocket-sitter Benny J (Andy McCarthy) then attacked two-wide on the final bend and cleared Dame Good Time beyond the 1:25 3/5 three-quarters.
Benny J was on a clear lead in the upper part of the stretch, but then he also went off-stride, putting Dame Good Time back on top. From there, Dame Good Time and Mister Dad (Dan Noble) raced to the wire, and Dame Good Time held sway by a length and a quarter in 1:53 1/5. Benny J wound up third.
