Endurance stretched his win streak to five in-a-row and is now three-for-three in the Kentucky Championship Series for 2-year-old male trotters at The Red Mile after winning Tuesday's $80,000 leg in a career-best 1:52 3/5.
With Andy McCarthy in the bike, Endurance stepped away quickly from post six and gave way to sit in the two-hole behind It Could Be Worse (Scott Zeron) after the 28 4/5 quarter. It Could Be Worse would go on to click off the half in 56 4/5 before McCarthy sent Endurance two-wide before the 1:25 3/5 three-quarters. Endurance went back around It Could Be Worse before they entered the stretch and wouldn't be caught to the wire, defeating a closing Silverstein (David Miller) by a length and three-quarters. Neighver Punt (Dexter Dunn) grabbed third.
Chris Beaver trains Endurance, a Captain Corey colt bred by Steve Stewart and Martti Ala-Seppla, for owners Super Endurance Stable, Bill Manes, Leo Fleming and Mark Moger. He has earned $193,200 and paid $4.16 to win.
