Remington cancels 2nd through 10th races due to technical issues

Remington Park in Oklahoma City canceled its second through 10th races Saturday night due to technical issues that prevented the track’s signal from being presented properly, according to a representative of Remington.

The technical issues concerned television control room equipment. They also led to the track being unable to export its signal, according to a press release.

The first race was run for purse money only as horses were in the paddock while attempts were being made to correct the issues. All wagers on the card were refunded, according to both the representative and the press release.

Remington is scheduled to resume racing next Thursday through Saturday, but riders were not named on horses for those cards as of Aug. 30 because of ongoing negotiations on losing mount fees between representatives of the jockeys and horsemen.
