Ritzaphena remained unbeaten in two starts Friday night, when she rallied for a 1 1/4-length win over Lady Captain in the $100,000 Prairie Meadows Debutante. It was a nose back in third to Hot Crazy Matrix.
The race was for 2-year-old fillies at six furlongs.
Ritzaphena ($26.20) settled off the pace set by eventual fourth-place finisher Glengloria, who took the field through an opening quarter in 21.94 seconds and a half-mile in 45.44. The eventual winner advanced, and went on to cover the distance on a track rated fast in 1:12.39.
Elvin Gonzalez was aboard the winner for trainer Jayde Gelner.
Ritzaphena won her debut on turf, in a maiden special weight over 7 1/2 furlongs at Lone Star Park. She was making the second start of her career in the Debutante and earned a Beyer of 52.
Ritzaphena is a daughter of Lexitonian and she races for Sandeep Patel.
Prairie Meadows puts on another 2-year-old stakes Saturday night, with the running of the $100,000 Prairie Meadows Freshman.
