There is a two-day carryover of $104,929 in the $1 super high five in the ninth race at Santa Anita on Friday.
The tricky bet, which requires selecting the first five finishers in order, was not hit on Saturday and Sunday, leading to the massive carryover.
The carryover occurred after 5-2 Slick won an allowance race on turf, and was followed by runners with odds of 9-1, 47-1, 26-1, and 58-1.
Friday’s carryover is not a record. There was a two-day carryover of $347,289 in the super high five on Dec. 31, 2014. The following day, bettors added $1,718,606 to the pool. The bet returned $75,405.
Friday’s ninth race is an allowance race for California-bred fillies and mares at a mile on turf that will have a maximum of 10 runners.
