Thirtyfirststreet, with Rafael Bejarano up, defeats open company under allowance condidions on Jan. 12.

ARCADIA, Calif. - Trainer Doug O’Neill will send out Thirtyfirststreet in Saturday’s $100,000 Crystal Water Stakes for older California-breds over 1 1/16 miles at Santa Anita.

Thirtyfirststreet won the Lone Star Derby on turf in Texas last May. He lost his next five starts before winning an optional claimer over 1 1/16 miles against open company on the main track here on Jan. 12.

Rafael Bejarano rode Thirtyfirststreet in the optional claimer, but has the mount on Holladay Road in the Crystal Water. Trained by Julio Canani, Holladay Road was a fast-closing third in the California Cup Classic here on turf last October and later won an allowance race on turf against open company at Hollywood Park on Dec. 10.[bc_video_id:242910:]

Canani has no concern about Holladay Road’s ability on the main track. Last October, Holladay Road won an optional claimer over 6 1/2 furlongs on dirt here.

“He won very easily,” Canani said of that race.
