ALTOONA, Iowa – Sarah Sis controlled the pace under jockey Julio Felix and found enough energy in the last 40 yards to hold on by a nose in Saturday evening's Grade 3, $200,000 Iowa Oaks.

Pangburn, an imposing filly trained by Kenny McPeek, closed ground with a menacing rush but could not catch the Ingrid Mason-trained Sarah Sis. Sweetgrass, who made a contending bid on the far turn of the 1 1/16-mile Oaks, stayed on to hold third place, a half-length behind Pangburn.

Sarah Sis, the 8-5 favorite in the field of eight 3-year-old fillies, parlayed her success here May 30 in the Panthers Stakes into her second Grade 3 victory of 2015. The Sharp Humor filly also won Oaklawn Park's Honeybee on March 7 in her initial try versus graded stakes competition.

Owned by Joe Ragsdale, Sarah Sis earned $119,400 and covered the dirt route in 1:45.17.
