Ready Russell ripped off a track record mile in his Ohio Sires Stakes contest

Ready Russell's track record 1:54 3/5 mile in a $50,000 tilt for trotting males was the headline out of 11 Ohio Sires Stakes races for 2-year-olds that were held on Saturday night at Eldorado Scioto Downs.

Driven by Dan Noble, Ready Russell led through fractions of 28 1/5, 58 2/5 and 1:26 2/5 in his five length victory for trainer Deborah Swartz and owners Jeff Fought Racing, Brian Carsey and David Fought. The gelding by first crop sire Ready For Moni was bred by Midland Acres, has won five times in six starts, has earned $108,800 and returned $2.40 to win.

Noble was the leading driver overall as he also took another colt and gelding trot with Rose Run Boom (by In Range and bred by Rose Run Farm, paid $6.40 to win) in 1:55 1/5 for trainer Steve Carter and owners Jeff Fought Racing, Brian Carsey, Adam Friedland and Jacob Beard and a $50,000 filly trot with Joyofmylife As (by Guardian Angel As and bred by owners Acl Stuteri Ab and Kjell Johansson, paid $2.20 to win) in 1:56 1/5 for trainer Anette Lorentzon.

Also winning their respective events were:

-Filly pacer Shehasaway (by Summa Cum Laude and bred by trainer/co-owner Steve Bauder with co-owner Harold Bauder, paid $7.40 to win) in 1:53 for Brett Miller and co-owner Douglas Swihart;

-Gelding pacer Pet Project (by Pet Rock and bred by co-owner/trainer Kimberly Dailey with Jerry Zosel and Kathy Ratcliff, apid $2.60 to win) in 1:52 1/5 for driver Trevor Smith and co-owner Jr Stable LLP.

-Filly trotter Setyoursightshigh (by In Range and bred by Kentuckiana Farms, paid $2.60 to win) in 1:55 3/5 for driver Mike Wilder, trainer Marcus Melander and owners Heights Stable, Mantorp LLC., Amg Stable Inc. and K Kjellgren Livs Ab Inc.;
