Scioto: Thursday Hi-5 carryover sits at $41,530

Scioto Downs is building serious momentum with its Super High 5 wagering, as bettors are eyeing a lucrative opportunity following a rare double carryover. With no winning tickets in consecutive sequences, the carryover has swelled to $41,530 heading into Thursday’s 4th race.  The race draws a competitive field of 10 filly and mare pacers.

Through the first 11 days of racing at Scioto, handle has shown an impressive 21% increase year over year.

“Overall, our numbers have been pretty solid this year so far,” said Jason Roth, Scioto’s Director of Racing. “We’ve had quite a few carryovers and a couple of guarantees to start the season. We hope to keep the momentum going with as many full fields of 10 as possible and up to 16 races per card.”

Last season’s leading driver, Chris Page, is leading the driver standings so far with 29 wins in 136 starts, giving him a 21.3 winning percentage. Luke Hanners is sitting second with 24 wins and Brett Miller is third with 22.

Scioto’s leading trainer for the past 31 consecutive years, Virgil Morgan, Jr., has a big lead early this season with 24 wins in 80 starts, for a 30.0 winning percentage. Ron Burke sits second with nine wins and Heather France is third with six.

The 91-day 2026 Eldorado Scioto Downs regular season runs through Saturday, September 19. Races are held Tuesday-Saturday, with special holiday cards on Memorial Day and Labor Day instead of the Tuesday card that week. The track will then re-open for the Breeders Crown, with eliminations held October 16-17 and the finals October 23-24. More information about all the racing action at Scioto can be found on the Eldorado Scioto Downs website.
