Scoops Dynasty prevails in American Quarter Horse Association Challenge Championship

Scoops Dynasty was a three-quarter-length winner over Js on Fire in the Grade 1, $265,000 American Quarter Horse Association Challenge Championship on Sunday at the Downs at Albuquerque.

The race was one of three Challenge Championship stakes delayed a day after a power outage led to their postponement on Saturday night, according to the AQHA.

Scoops Dynasty ($7,40) won from off the pace while covering 440 yards on a fast tracker in 21.13 seconds.

*** Raizen Kane ($187) blew up the toteboard when, at odds of 92-1, he led throughout for a half-length win over Kowboy Boogie in the Grade 2, $140,000 Juvenile Championship. Raizen Kane covered 350 yards in 17.36 seconds.

*** Mysterious Cartel was a neck winner over Whata Lota Boy in the Grade 3, $165,000 Derby Championship. The winner covered 400 yards in 19.38 seconds and paid $16.20.
