It proved impossible to catch White Rocks in the Cincinnati Trophy last Friday night at Turfway, as the filly led early, opened an insurmountable lead, and could not be reeled in down the stretch. Two fillies who might have tried to give her company on the front end, Foxtastic and Presha, were scratched, but they reappear in the entries for Saturday night’s card in an $82,000 allowance for 3-year-old fillies.
Foxtastic gets perhaps a softer spot to try to stretch out successfully as she goes the mile here. The filly won her maiden in her second career start in the Presque Isle Debutante going 6 1/2 furlongs. She then led early before fading to fifth in the Grade 3 Mazarine at 1 1/16 miles in November.
Presha was most recently third, beaten less than a length, in the Tepin on the Aqueduct turf. The runner-up, Five G, came back to finish second in the Grade 3 Honeybee on dirt.
