The promising 3-year-old colt Englishman was entered Thursday in a first-level sprint allowance that made it onto the March 19 Fair Grounds card.

Englishman drew the outside post among nine 3-year-olds entered in race 10, carded for six furlongs and open to $125,000 claimers.

Englishman, a Maxfield colt trained for the C R K Stable by Cherie DeVaux, debuted Sept. 19 at Churchill, where he took an early lead and drew steadily clear to a 7 1/4-length victory. Englishman ran seven furlongs in 1:21.35, a raw time that produced a 97 Beyer Speed Figure, among the highest figures for a 2-year-old of 2025.

Englishman worked three times in October before DeVaux had to give the horse a break. Shipped to Fair Grounds in January, Englishman returned to the work tab Jan. 29. On Friday morning, he posted his seventh timed workout since arriving in New Orleans.

◗ A second-level dirt-sprint allowance with a $50,000 claiming option, race 6, headlines an eight-race Sunday card at Fair Grounds. Furio, despite a poor showing to end his 3-year-old campaign and another such race in his 4-year-old debut, could be favored.
