Turfway Park’s Saturday evening card will feature a mandatory payout in the jackpot Single 6 wager. The pool in the 20-cent wager begins with a carryover of $244,674 heading into the track’s final night of racing in 2024.
The sequence starts in the fourth race (post time: 7:25 p.m. Eastern) and concludes in the ninth. Each race in the sequence has a full field of 12 horses, with several also-eligibles.
The Single 6 has a 15 percent takeout.
The first Single 6 race is a conditioned allowance race offering an $81,000 purse. The next race is a maiden special weight for 2-year-olds at 6 1/2 furlongs.
Race 6 will test horses over 1 1/4 miles, featuring seven-time winner Good Governance as the 3-1 morning-line favorite. In Race 7, 2-year-olds will go one mile; while Race 8, the evening’s featured event, will be run over 1 1/4 miles with an $84,000 purse.
The sequence concludes with Race 9, a $5,000 claimer.
