Seven Grand was able to rally out of the pocket in the lane and won Friday afternoon's $112,100 New York Sire Stakes event for 2-year-old male trotters in 1:57 4/5.
With Sarah Svanstedt in the bike, Seven Grand led at the 29 1/5 quarter and then yielded to favored Titans Mischief (Matt Kakaley) past that marker. Titans Mischief would go on to click off the half in 58 4/5 and the three-quarters in 1:28 3/5 as Secured (Dan Daley) advanced first-over out of third on the final bend.
Secured stalled and then began to tire at the top of the stretch, which gave Svanstedt plenty of room to tip to the outside with Seven Grand. Once he was shown clear air, Seven Grand went up to and then around Titans Mischief on his way to the victory by a length and a quarter. Titans Mischief held second over a gaining Read The Room (Dylan Huckabone-Miller).
