Missouri voters have approved legal sports betting. The state has also set an official start date. Sportsbooks will begin operating in Missouri on December 1, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. CT. The road to legal sports betting in Missouri was slow.

Lawmakers tried to pass bills for several years, but the efforts kept failing in the Senate. Because of this delay, supporters decided to take the issue to voters rather than wait for lawmakers. On November 5, 2024, voters approved Amendment 2. This vote amended the Missouri Constitution and legalized sports betting.

After the vote passed, the Missouri Gaming Commission began preparing the market. The commission is now working on rules and issuing licenses for both retail and online sportsbooks to ensure they launch on time.

Launch Day & What It Means

Legal sports betting in Missouri will begin on December 1, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. Central Time. Both online and in-person sportsbooks are expected to go live on that day. People can create accounts and deposit money as early as November 17, 2025.

This prelaunch registration opportunity gives new users time to register before launch. It will also help them to be ready to place bets once the market opens. For users, this means you will soon be able to bet legally via a mobile app or at a casino. Early registration also lets you claim welcome offers before betting begins.

Confirmed Operators With Tethered and Untethered Licenses

In Missouri, there are two types of sports betting licenses. An untethered license allows a sportsbook to operate across the state without partnering with a casino or a sports team. A tethered license requires a partnership with a casino or a team.

Two operators already have untethered licenses. They are DraftKings and Circa Sports. Other big brands are expected to launch through tethered licenses. Some of these include:

FanDuel: This sportsbook will be working with local sports teams like St. Louis FC.

Bet365: They have a deal with the St. Louis Cardinals

BetMGM: The brand will partner with a casino operator to operate in Missouri.

Caesars Sportsbook: They will be operating through Harrah’s in Kansas City and Horseshoe in St. Louis.

ESPN Bet: This brand’s license is linked with PENN Entertainment.

Fanatics: The sportsbook is already in a partnership with Boyd Gaming.

Underdog: This betting site gains access by linking up with the Kansas City Royals.

Many more operators are still in the approval stage. Before the December launch, all these processes will be completed.

Preview of Welcome Promos

When sports betting launches in Missouri, new users can expect welcome bonuses from major apps. Some of these include:
DraftKings has promoted a “Bet $5, get $300 in bonus bets” style offer for Missouri customers.

FanDuel has run similar offers in other states, such as “Bet $5, get $200 in bonus bets if your first bet wins.”

Circa Sports takes a different approach. It does not push large sign-up bonuses. Instead, it focuses on stronger odds and higher betting limits.

If you want to be well-positioned for this Missouri sports betting launch, pre-register early. Try to compare each offer from different brands. Also, read the terms before choosing a Missouri betting app. It will also do you much good to take note of their responsible gambling rules.

By December 1, sports betting will launch in Missouri. The launch will add both online and in-person betting to Missouri’s gambling market. It will do so under full state oversight to protect consumers.
