Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 3/7

2025 MEET STATS: 45 - 146 / $283.80 (-$8.20)

BEST BETS: 7 - 14 / $22.20 (-$5.80)

BEST BET: SEVENSHADESOFGREY (5th)

SPOT PLAY: LYDEO (2nd)

Race 1: NW5547 in last 5 starts Trot

(1) VALI HANOVER hasn't done much recently but he is a proven winner at this basement conditioned level and draws the rail against this dreary bunch. Top call with Yannick driving. (3) BLACK TIE BASH has certainly underachieved for Lachance but last week's race was better and he can build off that effort. (6) LADY JETER was in the FM Invite not too long ago and last week's race wasn't bad; driver change here to Stratton and I think she'll attract plenty of attention, but maybe too much as she could be an underlay.

Race 2: F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(6) LYDEO has raced well in two starts since returning to Yonkers and now Bartlett gets the call as Kakaley drives the Alexander entrant; mare has good speed and may have an easy time getting on or near the lead. (3) GOLDEN QUEST N steps up a notch looking for two straight and the classy vet is more than capable. (1) RACIN HUNGRY makes her second start in the Bongiorno barn after taking money at The Meadowlands but failing to get involved; worthy of consideration from the rail.

Race 3: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot

(4) FULL RIGHTS had a complete form reversal last week as the Schnittker trainee was narrowing the gap late at almost 50/1; he's got some early zip if returning driver Marohn wants to use it and this veteran could work out a live trip. (1) LOS BALLYKEELAMIGO drops back to NW5000 and was a winner when last at this bottom level. (3) ABRUZZO had no chance last week but was third the start prior facing $40K claimers; he's another logical one in here who will attract attention.

Race 4: F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) DELITFULCATHERIN N got her long-awaited win last week and she begins her march back up the class ladder tonight. Classy Gillis trainee may have a tactical edge on the other likely choice (4) MCMARKLE SPARKLE, who folded under pressure last start at The Meadowlands but was a good second here the start prior. (3) TWO PISTOL ANNIE has $0 earned in four seasonal starts after a $120K campaign in 2024; have to believe the Shane Tritton trainee will turn it around.

Race 5: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot

(1) SEVENSHADESOFGREY goes from the worst post in two straight at the NW10000 to the rail in this lower class, and returns to Bartlett. It's safe to assume the Bucci trainee will awaken in a big way. (3) RITSON found a field he could handle last week and steps up a notch looking for two straight. (5) THE LAST CHAPTER also won last out but will have to step it up in order to repeat. That's a tall order but this veteran's early speed can set him up with a nice trip at a price.

Race 6: F&M NW16751 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) INTOTHEMYSTICMOON returns to Yonkers for Burke and she's had success here in the past with a local win each of the last two seasons; Gingras drives from a reasonable post in this competitive race. (7) MIGHTHAVTIME N looked very good winning in her local return; now she loses Bartlett to an Engblom trainee and draws poorly while up in class but she should be a big price which is enticing for a sharp horse. (2) RED TIME has been off for two months but could be ready to fire coming off those two Pocono qualifiers.

Race 7: F&M NW32426 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) ELEKTRA A returns to Yonkers for the Cullipher barn after a long stint at the top levels at Dover and she was 8 for 9 here with four wins last year, working her way from the bottom up to the Invite. Bartlett chooses the mare who should be ready to roll here. (6) CHERYLS SHADOW closed well for third in her drop back to this class and though she lands outside again she does have good early speed if Holland wants to go that route. (3) TWIST LITTLE GIRL N has been a solid earner recently and is another with early speed.

Race 8: NW15081 in last 5 starts Trot

(4) BLACK MAGIC took a couple of starts to hit high gear after the layoff but he raced big in his last two at The Meadowlands and the Toscano trainee won three times here in just five starts. (3) THE HAZELTON won very comfortably last week and the Burke trainee looks to repeat. (1) TUSCAN PRINCE had hit the board in his last four and overall has raced well for Lachance after arriving from Canada.

Race 9: F&M NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) LLOYD'S LOVES is still shut out in 2025 after 19 wins a season ago but the mare has raced well enough in all those starts to win. Figure the drop in class and improved post can get her over the top. (1) TONY'S MOM is also very logical with her speed and rail draw. (8) SILK CLOUD A has been right there with the top choice in her last couple and she's a proven talent, but another outside post is tough.

Race 10: NW10000 in last 5 starts Trot

(6) DULY RESOLVED returns to town on the strength of a strong win at Pocono and the former Breeders Crown finalist figures to be more involved than he was last time. Cullipher trainee can go on or off the pace. (3) DW'S POINT MAN gets needed post relief and the Lachance student appears overdue. (2) CHULO put it all together in his return to the States but can he string together back-to-back strong efforts?

Race 11: F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) VILLAGE JADE finds the softest spot she's seen in ages and the classy mare figures to not let the opportunity pass. (6) YOU BEDA ROCK ships in from The Big M and gets a new set of hands in Siegelman. She's been racing okay over there recently and could be worth a look at a price. (1) SUGAR BRITCHES has been a non-factor in all recent races, but all against better. Burke trainee drops, draws the rail looking to awaken.
