Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 6/6

2025 MEET STATS: 170 - 535 / $967.30 (-$102.70)

BEST BETS: 27 - 49 / $91.60 (-$6.40)

BEST BET: PC FREE WHEELING (2nd)

SPOT PLAY: HOOLIE N HECTOR (5th)

Race 1: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) HP MOMENTUM has had an underwhelming season so far in Ohio but he did win a race two back at Scioto in a class similar to this so he should fit nicely here. New addition to the Alexander barn picks up Bartlett. (3) JETT STAR N returns from New England for the Cushing barn and he's already got multiple wins at Yonkers in 2025. These two figure to dominate the wagering. (2) REAL WILLEY gets post relief and should be close up in this abbreviated field.

Race 2: NW5431 in last 5 starts Trot

(1) PC FREE WHEELING has made more money this year than the rest of the field combined and the mare probably couldn't ask for a better spot to turn things around. (2) PASSIONATE PROMISE was a decent second last week when dropped to this lowest conditioned level and Holland picks up the drive again. (3) SWISS HOUSE ON FIRE somehow hasn't finished better than third through ten starts this year despite never being far back. Veteran will pick up a win eventually.

Race 3: F&M NW20251 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) CHIAPANECAS was second best to the surprising front-runner last week and the Engblom mare has been a model of consistency all season. Bartlett picks up the drive tonight from a controlling spot. (3) LLOYD'S LOVES failed to make an impression last out at the Invite level but she now drops back to the class that's right up her alley; obvious major player. (6) LIT DE ROSE has tailed off a little in the production department as she nears the midpoint of her 10YO season but she may have been more of a victim of circumstance in many races, like tonight when it seems she'll be at a tactical disadvantage starting from the outside in a race that may be dominated by inside speed.

Race 4: F&M NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) FRONT PAGE STORY took some action in last week's F&M Invite but never made much of an impression; she's a legit talent and trainer/driver Lachance has options from this midpack post, like heading out to the front, where she's been successful in the past. (1) PASS AND STOW chased from fourth most of the way in that same Invite and failed to pick it up enough to threaten but she's back with Bartlett and from the rail the trip figures to be more favorable. (6) SILK CLOUD A is always a legit speed threat for the team of Pete Tritton and Jordan Stratton.

Race 5: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot

(5) HOOLIE N HECTOR is perfect in two starts since his return to the Adamczyk barn and while he faces better tonight I think he's still got more to offer; price should be reasonable as well. (3) CAL MILES N SHELL gave way after setting an honest clip last out but he closed well in prior starts and seems better from off the pace. (1) BROOKVIEW DARIUS has disappointed lately considering he was claimed for $40K a couple of months back. Drop in class can help him get back on the right track.

Race 6: NW10000 in last 5 starts Trot

(2) OPTRIX never had an anxious moment in last week's romp and the sharp sort can clearly build off that effort as he steps up a level in class. (3) THE PRINCE gave it an aggressive try last out but could not make it to the wire; that was an encouraging effort for the recent $60K claim who prior to that race had shown little. (4) TORRONE returns locally off a confidence-building win over at Pocono.

Race 7: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot

(6) DIJMON makes his way back to Yonkers, where he excelled last year with four wins in seven races and a mark of 1:53 4/5. Trotter was a good second recently at Philly, his first start back in the U.S. (8) TEXSONG SOPRANO has burned plenty of money recently when at this level but tonight he'll be a big price from out there and does have early speed to try getting into contention. (3) CACTUSTOTHECLOUDS is a certified speedster and will either be cutting this mile or stalking just in behind.

Race 8: F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) LAURIE LEE hasn't been at her best over her last couple but three back she just missed after an aggressive try from the rail. Veteran does have a class edge on most of these. (5) FACTORY GIRL unsurprisingly woke up with the drop in class after being overmatched in the Matchmaker; Brennan sent her to the front in her last two and figures to be trying that tactic again. (2) KATIES UP can land a piece by virtue of the cozy draw.

Race 9: F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(5) LUCKY ARTIST A drops back down to a level she will be much more comfortable at and the classy 12YO mare can beat these on memory alone. (3) DEFININGTHE MOMENT was a nice winner last week at The Meadowlands for new connections and it wouldn't surprise me to see that she has more to offer. (2) LADYCORONA faltered on the front end last out and the Lachance trainee is now 0 for 14 on the season; she's likely going back to stalking mode tonight.
