Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 7/18

2025 MEET STATS: 209 - 717 / $1,147.40 (-$286.60)

BEST BETS: 36 - 68 / $123.40 (-$12.60)

BEST BET: MISS DOTTIE MAE (5th)

SPOT PLAY: UNEVERGONNAGETHIS (4th)

Race 1: NW11771 in last 5 starts Trot

(2) BONTONI DEGATO S seemed to turn things around recently at Pocono then came back locally and was a close second; post edge here should get him a live trip again. (5) DIAMANTE TRIO IT has been successful this season banking close to 100K while facing better; drop makes her the one to beat. (7) B NICKING refused to trot in his last start (and bowled a perfect game!) but he's right back in after requalifying and has early speed to get close.

Race 2: F&M NW11010 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) LUCKY ARTIST A isn't a top mare anymore but she's still a classy campaigner who comes to work every week; two back with Holland driving she closed nicely for a piece and she lands a better post here in this race with no standouts. Worth a look. (2) VARSITY BLUE CHIP has been second best in her last three and fits well with this type; Bako trainee is a contender from this good post. (7) SEASIDE DIVA has failed to convert in three straight when bet heavily, and two of those she was 20 cents on the dollar. Burke trainee has to be considered on talent alone but is tough to use on top at a short price.

Race 3: F&M NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) STAYINGWITHTHEWIND has looked super in her last two wins and fortunately for her she only has to take a moderate step up in class. Brennan drives again and she's sharp enough to get the hat trick. (1) KISS MY CHEEK is a consistent 4YO mare for the Stratton barn and moving in to the rail makes her a strong candidate here. (4) CHIAPANECAS has missed the board only once in 17 tries this season and recently went over the $100K mark in 2025 earnings. Only concern here is the missed time as she hasn't raced since June 20.

Race 4: NW15001 in last 5 starts Trot

(7) UNEVERGONNAGETHIS draws outside yet again but this versatile trotter can go from on or off the pace and meets a field with some questionable favorites and not a ton of early speed. Hopefully Stratton can get away in good order and he should offer a fair price. (1) HAZELTON will likely be the pacesetter here like he's done in his last two races but the Burke trainee isn't the best finisher. (3) AIRMANS JACKPOT was a non-factor in her first off the Alexander claim but she gets to face softer here.

Race 5: F&M NW6371 in last 5 starts Pace

(6) MISS DOTTIE MAE drops to the basement conditioned class and meets some pretty stale rivals. Vallee trainee gets Bartlett back in the bike tonight and though we haven't seen it recently she's got plenty of early speed; looking for her to fire down the road. (1) OKINAWA BEACH A moves all the way in to the rail and picks up a new driver in Marohn. She has beaten better than these in the past, but it's been a while. (7) TALENT TO SPARE A is another capable class-dropper but drawing outside the top choice probably puts her at a tactical disadvantage.

Race 6: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot

(6) FULL RIGHTS may be a reach but he's always well-mannered and has proven gate speed; Schnittker veteran was empty at Goshen but was also off a month coming into that race so it's likely he's tighter tonight; 20/1 ML. (1) MYCROWNMYKINGDOM moves back to the rail and is the probable pacesetter with Holland back driving. (3) HANKINS HANOVER and (4) ARCHERY SEELSTER are a couple of contenders both from strong barns but neither has any live current form.

Race 7: F&M NW6041 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) C-BET HANOVER was a decent second last week and Colin Kelly picks up the drive again from a very reasonable spot; seems overdue for a win. (1) MARLBANK ROAD just missed two back and rallied for a piece from last in his prior start. Stafford trainee did give way after cutting the mile when last starting from the rail but he seems better off stalking and Holland probably knows that. (6) CAVIART SARGENT is 1 for 21 on the year but has a bunch of third-place finishes.

Race 8: NW8151 in last 5 starts Trot

(3) WARRIOR ONE has now taken two straight and steps up another notch on the comeback trail; I'll stick with this veteran who is closing in on $800K lifetime. (6) DOROTEA TRIO IT raced well two back with better but that start is sandwiched by two breaks. Let's assume she'll stay trotting and she can add loads of value to the exotics. (1) CREATIVE VENTURE is another Stafford trainee on the card who draws best looking to get things turned around.

Race 9: F&M Invitational Handicap Pace

Seems strange to end the card with the F&M Invitational, but here we are. (8) WALKIN ON SUNSHINE is back at Yonkers after finishing third to Twin B Joe Fresh and Sylvia Hanover at the Meadowlands and she's overcome the outside post assignment multiple times already this season. Talented Pelling mare gets the call. (7) SILK CLOUD A is proven speed and last week's winner should be able to cross over to the front, which then obviously makes her a big player again. (5) LIT DE ROSE outclasses the rest of these and I'm curious to see if Lachance tries putting her in play early.
