Yonkers: Clean sweep for Gingras, Burke in John Brennan Trotting Series

Antognoni S, Blockchain and Busy Making Moni gave driver Yannick Gingras and trainer Ron Burke the victories in the trio of $30,000 divisions of the second leg of the John Brennan Trotting Series on Wednesday night (April 9) at MGM Yonkers Raceway.

All three triumphs came in front-end fashion. Five-year-old Father Patrick gelding Antognoni S, the only repeater in the event, led through stations of 28 3/5, 57 4/5 and 1:26 1/5 on his way to a seven length score for co-owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., Weaver Bruscemi LLC., Fac Racing LLC. and Gingras, while 4-year-old International Moni gelding Blockchain moved to the lead at the 29 second opening quarter and kept it from there, prevailing by a length and a quarter in 1:57 3/5 for Burke Racing Stable LLC. and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Finally, 5-year-old International Moni gelding Busy Making Moni tallied in 1:57 after he was on top at the 28 1/5 quarter, 57 4/5 half and 1:27 2/5 three-quarters. He is also co-owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC. and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Named in honor of the longtime SOA of NY horsemen's representative who passed away from complications of COVID-19 in March 2020, the John Brennan Trotting Series has one more prelim on April 16 before a $100,000 guaranteed final and $50,000 guaranteed consolation on April 23.

MATCHMAKER & BORGATA SERIES MARCH ON:  The Blue Chip Matchmaker Series is Friday night's (April 11) feature at Yonkers and will have four $50,000 divisions of the third preliminary round. Beautiful Seaside (post seven, race five) and Aardie B Miki N (post four, race six) will look to remain perfect in the series, but Beautiful Seaside is in against series winners High Flyin' Filly (post three) and Silk Cloud A (post five), while Aardie B Miki N is sure to get a test from the likes of Walkin On Sunshine (post one) and Grace Hill (post five)

Monday's (April 14) third leg of the MGM Borgata Pacing Series has four $50,000 splits. Two-for-two For Once Inmy Life is taking the week off, but Mossdale Ben N will try and improve to three-for-three in the event in the final section (race eight).

PICK 5 GUARANTEED POOL BOOSTED ON MONDAYS & FRIDAYS:  Continuing for every Monday and Friday card during the legs of the MGM Borgata Pacing Series and Blue Chip Matchmaker Series, MGM Yonkers Raceway, in conjunction with the SOA of NY, is offering a $20,000 guaranteed Pick 5 pool in race five.

The guaranteed Pick 5 pool on Mondays is also a part of the United States Trotting Association's Strategic Wagering Program.

MGM Yonkers Raceway is currently operating on a Monday through Friday live racing schedule with post time each night at 6:45 p.m. (EDT).
