While sports betting is available at a handful of horse racetracks around Nebraska, there's no wagering on the state's beloved college programs, and efforts to legalize mobile wagering have thus far proven unsuccessful.

When the WarHorse Casino at Legacy Downs in Lincoln accepted Nebraska's first sports wager in 2023, the home of the Huskers became the 36th state to commence sports betting. While efforts are afoot to legalize mobile wagering in Nebraska, it remains a retail-only state, with six racetracks authorized to accept in-person bets.
Not having mobile wagering is an obvious drawback, as is Nebraska's restriction on betting on in-state schools. Few states are as crazy about college sports, with the University of Nebraska's football and women's volleyball programs leading the way and Omaha playing host to the College World Series.
Sports betting in Nebraska is still young, and with several neighboring states offering online wagering, the hope is that the Cornhusker State will eventually come around.

Sports wagering is legal in Nebraska, where there are a handful of retail betting locations. Betting is limited to horse racetracks with sportsbooks, however, as there is no mobile wagering in Nebraska.
People who are 21 or over can bet on sports in Nebraska, provided they do so in person at a horse racetrack with a licensed sportsbook.
Sports wagering in Nebraska is regulated by the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission.
The NRGC has approved a lengthy list of sporting events on which to wager, including: Australian Rules Football, baseball, basketball, bowling, boxing, combat sports, cricket, cycling, darts, football, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, motorsports, beach volleyball, field hockey, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, volleyball, water polo, NCAA wrestling, Olympics, rodeo, rugby, and surfing.
Prop bets on athletes under the age of 18 are not permitted in Nebraska, and neither is wagering on Nebraska-based collegiate teams.
Daily fantasy sports contests are neither legal or illegal in Nebraska, which has yet to take up the issue of their legality. Hence, several major DFS operators are up and running in the Cornhusker State.
It's legal to bet on horse racing in Nebraska, be it through online account wagering, simulcast betting, or live at one of the state's six racetracks, the most prominent of which is Fonner Park in Grand Island.
