Sports wagering has come nowhere close to becoming legal in South Carolina, but it's not for lack of trying. Not a year goes by where a legislator doesn't at least introduce a bill seeking to cut the state in on the nationwide bonanza, but those bills have consistently gotten buried in committee.

A Senate Bill that would legalize sports betting while establishing a regulatory agency called the South Carolina Sports Wagering Commission fails to gain the necessary traction.
Sports wagering is not legal in South Carolina despite multiple attempts to authorize the practice by the state legislature.
Nobody can legally bet on sports in South Carolina.
There is no sports betting regulator in South Carolina since there is not, as of yet, legal sports betting, although recent legislation sought to assign oversight to a newly created South Carolina Sports Wagering Commission.
